All of our support workers/carers are trained to a very high and professional standard.

It is an advantage to have the following qualifications and qualities in our carer’s, but no essential as full training and enrollment onto NVQ`s will be given.

  • NVQ2 or above, which is the same as 5 GCSEs at A-C
  • Experience in taking care of someone
  • A caring attitude and personality
  • You must have good communication skills
  • You must show initiative, responsibility and commitment

Once we have recruited a support worker/carer, we take them through the following 5-day intensive induction and practical training course which covers the following areas:

  • The company
  • Our policies and administration procedures
  • Carer-client boundaries and good practices
  • Health and safety
  • Emergency and first aid
  • Medication administration and its importance
  • Manual handling
  • Food hygiene and infection control
  • Effective communication
  • Once a year, all our carers go through a revision course, which covers the previous topics, giving special focus to:
  • Policies and procedures
  • Manual handling
  • Medication administration
