That is why we take the time to get to know each person and their unique needs. Our aim is to create a safe, supportive and encouraging environment where people with autism can thrive, build their confidence and enjoy life in the way that suits them best.
We work closely with individuals, their families and other professionals to develop a care plan that is truly personal. By focusing on strengths and interests as well as needs, we help each person to live as independently as possible and feel part of their community.
What is Autism?
Autism, or Autism Spectrum Condition, is a lifelong developmental difference that affects how a person communicates, interacts with others and experiences the world around them.
It is called a spectrum because it can affect people in many different ways, from the way they process information to how they cope with sounds, lights and other sensory input.
Some people with autism may need a high level of daily support, while others may live more independently but still benefit from help with certain aspects of life. Every person’s experience is unique, which is why a flexible and understanding approach to care is so important.
Our approach to Autism Care
Our approach is centred on the individual. We believe in listening, adapting and offering the right level of support at the right time. This might mean helping with daily routines, supporting social activities or developing life skills. Whatever the goal, we provide patient and understanding care that helps build confidence and independence.
We also work to create a consistent and reassuring environment. Predictability can be important for many people with autism, so we work with familiar routines and carers who really get to know the person they support.
Support we provide
We offer a wide range of support for people with autism, which may include:

I never wanted any carers but had to have them after breaking my leg,it was the best decision I ever made. I’ve always struggled and done things myself,I’ve always hated asking for help. My “Mountbatten carers” are an absolute godsend, they are kind, caring, they help me with everything, washing, dressing, getting up from my chair, anything I need. They do,nothing is a problem for them. I ended up in hospital again before Christmas and was diagnosed with heart failure,so now I’m dealing with that as well as all my other medical problems. I’m not steady on my feet so I’m glad when I get up I’ve got both my carers to hold on too,I can’t even carry anything as I use crutches. I rely on my carers so much mentally and physically,I don’t know where I’d be without them Debbie McAllister2025-03-06
